“Supermarkets, online brands, entertainment stores, toy outlets and even clothes shops are now selling games and that means healthy competition,” said Game’s deputy CEO David Thomas, addressing concerns from that the move would be bad for consumers. The company would have a bigger test ahead in convincing the Competition Commission of its position, though as noted, online retail was a growth area and both Game and Gamestation “still trail the two biggest operators,, by a wide margin”.
