  The Wii was rapidly catching up to the Xbox 360’s head start, with reporting “widespread stock shortages”. The PS3 was doing less well, with reporting sales that were “substantially lower than those of PS2” at the same point in its life. also reported that Sony Computer Entertainment America president Jack Tretton offered an interviewer $1,200 if they could find a PS3 that had been on shelves for more than five minutes, only to be told that half of the 18 stores called had PS3.
