SCIMITAR-HORNED ORYX DOWNLISTED FROM EXTINCT IN THE WILD TO ENDANGERED
Just recently, the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) downlisted the scimitar-horned oryx (Oryx dammah) from Extinct in the wild to Endangered.
Thanks to the work done by the Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi, the scimitar-horned oryx has been successfully reintroduced to its native habitat in the Sahara Desert of Chad in Central Africa.
