A Scandinavian Horex
It’s a very small world. When I happened to mention I was to photograph a Horex for OBA to a work colleague (adventure biker and ex-Norwegian Richard Gjone) he replied that back in Scandinavia his late uncle (Magnus Dale) was a Horex enthusiast and high up in the Norwegian Horex Club. Amongst the information he presented me was an article written by his cousin Jostein Dale about his Horex Resident which was a legacy of Magnus’s passion. Jostein’s story followed his award for Denmark’s “Most Beautiful Classic” in 2017.
“I am trained as a mechanical engineer and work as a constructor in the oil industry. I live in Sandnes with my wife Margrete and our four children. But now a little about my Horex: It is a model Resident from 1957 with a 350cc engine. It is very comfortable to ride, and if I lean forward on the motorway, I can reach a top speed of 125 km/h! I acquired it in 2003 as a cardboard box model. It was my late uncle Magnus Dale, who was one of the driving forces behind the Norwegian Horex Club, who got it for me.
“In 2013 I had restored my house and had fathered four children, but theexpected that we will in 2019. By then I will probably have the idle fine-tuned, so that I may also be able to run with that title.”
