BLOW YOUR OWN

Wrong track

In the story on Arcadia (OBA102), it says that the picture of Bob Sharp (above) was taken at Kembla Grange Speedway. It was actually taken at Parramatta Sprintcar track, probably in 1993. They held the Australian Long Track Championship for bikes there and Bob was helping them for a while that year. In the background is the Castrol sign and Peter Jackson sign – they sponsored the Sprintcar track for years in the 1990s.

Joe’s the man

Just got OBA105 and loved the article on Joe Eastmure. We know Joe really well; he is in the local club and still rides a lot. Joe is also one of the club’s Gate Bosses at the Maleny Swap as he lives at Maleny and handles the early shift. We held what we call “The Drummed Brake Ride” recently. It’s a once-a-month thing. Joe was riding as usual and on the 350 Suzuki which he rode in the 6 Hour. It is always immaculate. We all gave him a bit of stick about being famous again.
