FOR THOSE WHO have recently enjoyed , the film adapted from Percival Everett’s novel , you will understand that I am reticent to say this book is important, raw or real. What I will say with confidence is that Everett is a was shortlisted for the 2022 Booker Prize. A 30-year overnight success, as they say, Everett is now well and truly enjoying his moment, and deservedly so.
