aul Weller. If you don’t know the name, shame on you. He was lead guitarist and singer for. It’s not a great album. But it has one certifiable banger, “My Ever Changing Moods,” and the very charming “You’re the Best Thing.” The best thing about ? The cover. Shot by Simon Halfon in Paris, it shows Weller and bandmate Mick Talbot clad in mackintosh coats. Beneath his, Weller wears cuffed jeans and black lace-ups; Talbot sports dark pants and white tennis shoes. I am embarrassed to say how often I rip off their outfits, down to the newspaper in Talbot’s right hand. It’s the perfect mix of cool guy and, well, normal. Style inspiration is really everywhere—even the cover of a mediocre ’80s record.
