SKILL LEVEL

Moderately Challenging

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

41 inches wide x 51 inches long

MATERIALS

• Plymouth Yarn Encore Worsted medium (worsted) weight acrylic/wool yarn (3½ oz/200 yds/100g per ball):
4 balls #0451 green gremlin
2 balls each #0450 green and #6004 shamrock heather
1 ball each #1382 bright yellow, #1386 Christmas red, #1385 bright fuchsia, #1383 bright orange and #1384 bright purple
• Size J/10/6mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
• Locking stitch markers: 15

GAUGE

12 dc = 4 inches; 6 dc rows = 4¼ inches

Exact gauge is not critical for this project.

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Chain-1 at beginning of row counts as first single crochet unless otherwise stated.

Chain-2 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Do not remove markers until instructed.

Rows with “invisible” slip stitches carrying motif colors are numbered as a subset to the background row in which it is worked. For example, row 3a, carrying motif color Christmas red, follows and is worked in background row 3. This simplifies counting rows, since the slip stitches carrying the yarn between motifs are not visible on the right side. Joining slip stitch counts as first slip stitch in subset rows.

When working into rows below, pay careful attention to whether you are working behind or in front of the stitches above.

When instructed to drop yarn, remove hook and place loop on locking stitch marker until next needed. When instructed to pick up yarn, remove marker and place loop on hook.

When instructed to work into a chain (rather than into a chain space), work into the loops of the chain itself and not into the space.
