OVERDRIVE FOR CHEVY G30

This may be an odd or weird question for , but here goes. I’m restoring a 1987 Chevy G30 cutaway class C motorhome. It has a 5.7-liter engine with a three-speed automatic transmission. With that being said, I’m a Mopar man, so my knowledge of GM is limited. I’m looking to put an overdrive transmission behind the 5.7 in this motorhome. Would the TH700-R4 be my answer? Even with the extra weight of the camper body, I’m still trying to get the best possible fuel mileage out of this unit. Right now, it has a Quadrajet carburetor, but I plan to install an aftermarket EFI as
