Loch Ness Bay Camping, Highlands
Loch Ness Bay Camping occupies a wonderful site close to the shores of Loch Ness. It’s perfectly flat and sits in a well-sheltered position surrounded by hills.
With less than a 10-minute walk into the village of Drumnadrochit, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for activities close to hand. Meanwhile, if city sightseeing is your thing, then Inverness is only 14 miles away.
When I settled for a two-night stop on my way from Inverness to Fort William, I decided that Loch Ness Bay Camping fitted the bill. It was convenient to Drumnadrochit for topping up supplies, and there were also numerous hiking options directly from site.
From my pitch I was able to access the Great Glen Way and, along with local field paths, I enjoyed a pleasant hike to the Falls of Divach.
Another easy walk from site is to follow the A82 towards Urquhart Castle. This affords excellent views across Loch Ness and is also an easy way to visit the castle itself. The castle gets extremely busy, so being able to leave the ’van on site works well.
