THE matrix that I have described can be used to measure your progress over the years. If you have identified an area for improvement and brought in outcrosses to rectify the problem, then you can compare your data against the following year’s matrix. You will hope to register an improvement by recording fewer birds in the “3” column for that targeted criterion.
