PEDIGREE: know it and act on it

THE more knowledge that you possess about the background of your initial stock and the way that stock's breeder chose to make their selections and pairings, the better chance you have of continuing and even improving the desired qualities the birds have.

If you have chosen to obtain your birds from a successful source, then the pedigree that each bird holds could determine your success going forward. Birds from a proven line of decent stock tend to give the new breeder a far greater chance of success when they are looking to create a stud.
