BERLIN — A crowd of mourners gathered outside the church where Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny's funeral service was to be held Friday, with a large police presence controlling access to the building.
The scene remained peaceful as mourners chanted Navalny's name and slogans such as, "we are not afraid."
