A California legislator is proposing a new law that would require routine tests of statewide wastewater for illicit drugs to better inform public health and law enforcement officials.
Propelled by the success of epidemiological sewage testing , public health officials on ways that wastewater monitoring can be used to inform policies and to test wastewater for illegal drugs and overdose reversing agents, such as Narcan, in across the nation, including San Francisco and San Diego.
