Turmeric contains the polyphenol curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and can help to restore your hormonal balance. Curcumin is fat-soluble, so combine it with healthy fats like avocado or coconut milk to aid absorption.

• 250 ml (1 cup) coconut milk • 125 ml (½ cup) coconut water • 1 avocado, peeled and pitted • 6 cm-piece ginger root, peeled and chopped roughly • 15 ml (1 tbsp) chia seeds • 5 ml (1 tsp) coconut oil • 5 ml (1 tsp) erythritol • 2.5 ml (½ tsp) ground turmeric • a handful of crushed ice
