As England’s most capped player, footballer Fara Williams found it hard to step away from the beautiful game when she retired in 2019. “The game served me so well,” the former midfielder tells HELLO!. “I have always coached, throughout my career, because I want to give back.”

But knowing first-hand the effect that negative comments can have on players’ performance, the Boots, Balls & Bras podcast co-host has teamed up with Google to promote pitchside positivity in youth games.

We sat down with Fara, 40, a multiple trophy winner – including two Women’s Super League titles with Liverpool – to discuss her transition from player
