With the wide array of amazing coins coming out of the United States Mint each year, as well as other world mints, it’s easy to forget what plenty of collectors might consider their roots, the humble one-cent coins. Today they get tossed about rather casually, with plenty of stores having a leave-a-penny-take-a-penny dish by their cash registers, for example. But the one-cent coin has been with us since the beginning, and it can be a fun endeavor to see just what sort of type set collection we can put together, incorporating as many of the different cents as possible.
