The California Look has been around for almost 50 years now. Quite astonishing really. Even more so is the fact Greg Aronson’s white ’63 sunroof was a mere 12 years old when it appeared on the front cover of Hot VWs magazine in February 1975. That’s equivalent to a modified Mk7 Golf in VW’s more recent line up!

There’s no way Aronson could have envisaged the after effects of that magazine feature still reverberating around the world half a century later. Let’s face it, most people thought we’d have flying cars and intergalactic communes by now. But no, we’re still here doing just what he did, but with much older machinery. Makes you wonder how things could look in another 50 years, doesn’t it?
