Let’s talk about the ‘A’ word, Apathy
Motorcycling in the UK is under threat like never before and faces battles on multiple fronts: the impending ban on internal combustion engines; being left out of future transport plans; increasing levels of theft that deter use; complex licencing arrangements that have led to a loss of the next generation of motorcyclists; changes to road infrastructure that have reduced the space available for motorcycles; the imposition of parking charges; the list goes on.
Apathy is easy; a comfortable feeling where you don’t have to do anything. You can still care about the lived? How will you explain what you did to try to stop it, to preserve it for the future, for those who are still to come? Or will you blame others, take the role of victim in an inevitability that could never be avoided? Where is your true passion? Where is that fight for survival? The time is at hand. If not now, then when will you rise to defend that which you hold so dear as your freedom?
