I greatly enjoyed the new section in regarding up-and-coming modern classics, especially the article on the Honda S2000. This is an extremely good-looking car, which is unusual when considering how ugly most modern cars are these days. However, this era of cars are now so complicated with computerisation of engine management, traction control, central locking and numerous other electrical systems which are liable to fail that maintenance costs can become horrendously expensive in comparison with older, simpler classics. There is also the question of parts availability when they go out of production to consider, and the ever expanding ULEZ proliferation that may cause these beautiful old cars to be unfortunately scrapped well before their time. Sadly I wonder how long the classic car movement that we love so well will survive the push for net zero emissions.
