Offense responds to change at top

Pat Freiermuth reacted with a crooked smile that said, “Weren’t you watching the game?”

The question put to him had been about the changes to the Steelers’ offense in the game following the firing of coordinator Matt Canada and the promotion of running backs coach Eddie Faulkner to the position.

What changed?

“Well,” Freiermuth continued, “they fed my position group a little more.”

Consider TE1 won over by the change.

Freiermuth, of course, enjoyed the best game of his career, and it came under the stewardship of Faulkner and new play-caller Mike Sullivan, who doubles as quarterbacks
