PADDON MAKES HAY WHILE BRITON ARMSTRONG SHINES

For the first time since Chris Ingram in 2019, a UK driver came out on top in the European Rally Championship. While Ingram won outright four years ago, Jon Armstrong’s capture of the ERC3 prize was similarly impressive as he sped to four consecutive category wins in M-Sport’s finest Fiesta Rally3 challenger.

Armstrong, from Northern Ireland, also showed plenty of pace when he stepped up to a Rally2 Fiesta with a points finish on Royal Rally of Scandinavia, a new addition to the ERC calendar that brought the iconic Colin’s Crest leap back from the cold in more ways than one.

The place where World championship drivers used to fly high in the thick of the Swedish winter formed part of the route as international rallying returned to the country’s famous Varmland region.
