It’s predictions season again. Along with sickly tepid mulled wine and soggy mince pies, a recurring feature of this time of year is investment bank analysts’ annual outlooks.
These are all about marketing, not forecasting. Analysts tend to miss important events (the entire economics establishment failed to see the global financial crisis coming, remember) and often bunch together around
