Love at first bite

’m often asked for special restaurant recommendations in town and now I have a new favourite: Italian Il Gattopardo () on Albermarle Street, W1. Think magical Christmas evenings, a lunch date with a certain someone or wooing a top client—this spot has oodles of atmosphere, but no kitsch and the beautiful -trellis courtyard room at the back has an opening roof for late-night cigar smoking. Excellent Negronis and sensational seafood, finished with cream doughnuts for pudding—and, of course, the staff are charming, as you’d expect from a true Italian experience ().
