Cardigan twin

I just wanted to comment on Hannah Fisher’s letter and picture in a recent issue [5 September]. The cardigan her nanny knitted her is from the same pattern my nanny used to knit me one, back in about 1952! Mine was in blue with little flower buttons. In those days, when you outgrew something, you took the buttons off and unpicked the garment so you could reuse the wool. Recycling is not new! I still have the buttons in the button box
