Scania was one of the few manufacturers to offer conventional – bonneted – trucks across Europe well after many others had dropped the models to concentrate on cabovers only. Even though they had limited appeal, because of the modular construction techniques used by Scania, offering them to those who wanted to buy them was not a major issue.
They were popular in many of Scania’s markets, especially South America, but were also quite popular in their Scandinavian homeland.
The 2 seriesin huge numbers in the UK either as the T82/92/112/142 or the later T93/113/143 models – but the 4 series version would not only go on to sell marginally better but has become a much sought after classic. They command some eye-watering prices these days, and indeed some are still hard at work.
