A Llovely end to the season

It’s fair to say that in recent years the end-of-season rally and LCGB custom show has had mixed success. The move away from the Yorkshire coast made sense, both from a financial perspective and to give the North West its own rally. Unfortunately, once the organisers were committed to Southport, the venue closed, leaving them to find alternative venues, and create a rally that was split across several premises in the town. Then came Covid.

Last year hosted another ‘split’ rally in Southport, but an announcement was made that a venue had been found in Llandudno. Yes, we know that’s in Wales and not the North West but let’s not quibble about a few miles, shall we…

So much for the history lesson, what about the present?

First impressions

The rally was always going to be a strange one for Stu and me, as we were taking ’s stall to the trade fair. As that won’t fit on a sprint rack, we resigned ourselves to being van w4nkers and endured some awful traffic over the Pennines. If only there was a way of filtering through the hold ups…. If one fair in a weekend wasn’t enough, I’d have to leave early to attend a wedding show with my daughter on the Sunday. If you think scooters are an expensive pastime, think again!
