What inspired you to start growing your own?

I was brought up with the “grow your own” philosophy. I come from a small town in Victoria, Australia, but my parents were European migrants who arrived there in the 1950s. They brought with them the love, but also the necessity, of having to grow their own fruit and vegetables. That background, together with the amazing climate, meant that we were growing crops in our garden nearly all year round. So, my earliest memories are of picking tomatoes and salad crops at home or going to a nearby town called Stanley on Boxing Day to pick cherries and soft fruit.
