There are several ways to put your artwork onto cards; here are just five methods to get you started.

1 Draw or paint directly onto a card base.
2 Draw or paint onto mixed-media paper then trim and mount onto the base.
3 Convert your artwork into a digital image then either print directly onto a card base or print onto photographic paper to trim and mount onto a card base.
4 Take the artwork or a digital image to your local high street printer.
5 Upload your design to an online print company.

Whichever route you chose to take to make your cards, there are a few things that are worth bearing in mind.

1 Start early

Whether your aim is to have cards available to sell at a Christmas fair or simply to send to your friends and family, start work on your design early. It will take weeks to have your cards printed
