Speed and fluency

Over the past few years, I have started workshops with a quick and easy way to build confidence and technique in landscape painting in watercolour. In fact, it can be used for any subject in watercolour. I hope you enjoy tackling the following technique.

Before you begin

1 Make sure the watercolour paper you use is not too big. I would recommend using paper approximately the size of a large postcard, roughly 5x8in.

2 Tape four of these pieces down on a backing board.

The paper can then be drawn on using a very simple landscape sketch, using a 2B pencil.
