In October, the slightly improbably named Vinton Cerf spelt out some internet-related home truths when he spoke at the Royal Society.
Mr Cerf is one of the creators of the worldwide web, being part of the team who invented the way computers talk to one another. He is widely considered one of the sanest – and is certainly one of the most senior (he's 80)
