The Sage of Narnia

C S Lewis died 60 years ago, on 22nd November 1963 – the same day Aldous Huxley died of cancer and President Kennedy was assassinated. The death of arguably the greatest Christian communicator of the 20th century was overshadowed by the murder of a world leader. Many people were even unaware that Lewis had died.

Six decades later, Huxley is quoted more than read, and John F Kennedy's vision of liberal America seems as distant as the Gettysburg address.

But Lewis is more popular than in the works.
