First impressions of the Forbes

FOREIGN FINCHES

THE Forbes parrotfinch or tricolor parrotfinch (Erythrura tricolor) is a truly stunning bird, and the same applies to the other species in this group, notably the now-rare pin-tailed parrotfinch (E. prasina). You more often see the commoner blue-faced and red-faced (red-headed) parrotfinches at shows and sales, and nowadays you also see many colour mutations in both species.
