Down to zero
Dunedin City Council has passed the Zero Carbon Plan to achieve zero emission of greenhouse gases (except biogenic methane) within seven years; twenty years ahead of the national target. From a solar farm on the landfill to supporting households to transition to clean energy, DCC are investing $137m to make it happen. They also have the Good Food Dunedin initiative to transform Dunedin into a sustainable food city. Good on you, Dunedin.
Sucking up seaweed

The good news is an eradication programme is commencing, with suction dredging and, if needed, mats containing chlorine. Left unchecked, Caulerpa could form dense and vast underwater fields.
