When I receive my new edition of , I page through it quickly and then start reading through starting with McNessor’s column, which is always amusing! But when I received my September issue something was quite different, and it quickly brought a lump to my throat! McNessor’s tribute to your father and his Can-Do life brought back memories of my father! We lost dad last August at age 87 years and miss him very much. He and I shared this old-car hobby along with my son. My father was also a welder working in a factory helping to build farm implements. There were many times in the summer weather that he would go in the plant in the morning and put on the leather apron still wet with sweat from the day before! He retired from that job at a young age (58) and started a lawn mowing service which he then did for 18 years. He had that Can-Do attitude his whole life, early on out of necessity due to raising four children and later because he could! He could fix anything he put his mind to or knew someone who could help him. His beloved ’48 Chevy is now in Sweden and the new owner is enjoying itand thank you for the memories!
