“Please, Daddy,” said Anna. “I’ve never seen a falling star my whole life.”

“But last time we tried to watch a meteor shower, you got cold and had to go inside,” Daddy said as he rinsed the plates. “And the other time you fell asleep.”

“But I’m older now,” Anna said, handing her dad a glass. “I can stay awake longer. And I don’t get cold like I used to.”
