GOPALS Bags & Luggage was originally a shoe retail and repair shop. Today, it specialises in travel luggage, handbags and leather goods and has shops across major shopping centres in Durban and Pietermaritzburg as well as digital platforms.
“The first shop was run by my late grandmother, Mani Gopal. She initially ran a shoe repair shop from 1958 until 1971 in Foundry Lane near Pine Street in the Durban CBD.
