THE local fishing industry has called for tighter safety regulations after 11 fishermen drowned when their trawler – which belonged to Sea Harvest – sank about 35 nautical miles from Hout Bay on Friday afternoon.
Sea Harvest said 20 crew members were on board the MFV Lepanto, one of the vessels in the group’s Viking Fishing Division.
