Debbie Turnbull, 64, is founder and managing director of the River and Sea Sense campaign and website in Holywell, North Wales, where she lives with her husband John, 69.

Angel Bay, in Llandudno, is deeply close to my heart; it’s a beautiful place with ancient standing stones, a gorgeous seal colony and walks with breathtaking views. Even though it was nearby, I didn’t know about it until our son Christopher died. He drowned after falling into a waterfall at Capel Curig when he was 15, in summer 2006.
