Holiday MODE
The invitations for parties and get-togethers have probably started pouring in. Here are a few foods and drinks best avoided or eaten in moderation during the holiday season.
• Nuts are rich in healthy fats, fibre, protein and essential nutrients, but go easy on the salted nuts. Too much sodium may adversely affect your blood pressure.
• Cheese generally has a high fat and kilojoule content, so combine a small amount of cheese with grapes and crudités – and skip the crackers!
