ADJOA COURTNEY has made a name for herself professionally as Chef Joya, known for taking basic recipes and using her talents to turn them into something extraordinary. She’s grown her following on social media, including her YouTube channel Say What! It’s Vegan?, and authored cookbooks, with her most recent being Baby, It’s, all with the aim of de-mystifying veganism and providing exceptionally tasty recipes. We checked in with Chef Joya on what it’s like to be a personal chef and how she has been “veganizing” the dishes Southerners know and love.
