Applications for the following events are due shortly. Conferences and festivals with rolling, first-come, first-served admission are listed well in advance. Some accept registration on the date of the event. Contact the sponsoring organization for an application and complete guidelines. Colrain Poetry Manuscript Conference
The Colrain Poetry Manuscript Conference will be held online from January 12, 2024, to January 15, 2024. The conference features workshops of book-length poetry manuscripts with poets and editors. The faculty includes Peter Covino and Joan Houlihan. The cost of the conference is $1,000. To apply, submit four to five poems and a brief bio via e-mail. DISQUIET International Literary Program
The 2024 DISQUIET International Literary Program, sponsored by Dzanc Books and CentroMāhealani Madden. Publishing professionals include editors from the and . To apply, submit a writing sample of 8 to 15 pages of prose or up to five poems totaling no more than 18 pages with a $20 entry fee by December 1. The annual DISQUIET Prize, which awards full tuition (a $2,200 value), airfare, and lodging to attend the conference, will be given to one poet, fiction writer, or creative nonfiction writer. A runner-up winner in each genre will also receive a tuition waver for the program or, if unable to attend, a $1,000 cash prize. To apply for the prize, submit up to six poems totaling no more than 10 pages or up to 25 pages of prose with a $15 entry fee by January 5.
