The debut single on the band’s first album, A Whole New Thing, could be a microcosm of what was to come – saxophonist Jerry Martini plays the melody to the children’s song “Frère Jacques” before the track bursts into a full psych-rock jam, filled with martial horns and socially conscious lyrics.
