BRIDGET ST JOHN & STEVE GUNN

Inner Freedom Barn, Buchanan, Michigan, September 23

FEW minutes into his set, Steve Gunn makes an observation: “It’s nice to play a show where you smell hay instead of stale beer.” Behind him, the open end of the Inner Freedom Barn reveals a big beautiful sky, pastures and grapevines, miles of trees and cornfields. We are inthe Storehouse, a local company focused on intimate gatherings by our best modern musicians and leftfield legends. Tonight’s show offers one of each: British folk icon Bridget St John (who has lived in NYC since 1976) and Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Gunn.
