It’s fair to say that the past few years have been a busy time for Jon Sullivan, dealer principle at Porsche Centre Bournemouth. Since joining the Centre in 2019, Jon has overseen a move to new, modern premises and been granted a status as one of only five official Porsche Classic partners in the UK, all while guiding the business through a pandemic and managing ongoing supply issues with parts… and that’s just in the workplace. Away from the Centre, Jon has relocated to the south coast of England, and is raising a young family with his wife.
There are pressures aplenty then, yet Jon has acquitted himself with aplomb, and these days there’s a warm and positive feel to the Centre that’s evident as soon as you step through the doors. Much of that is down to the culture Jon has tried to instil at the Centre – and such is his open-door policy, the man himself has agreed to take questions on all aspects of his job. Total 911: You oversaw Porsche Centre Bournemouth’s move into new premises 18 months ago. What challenges have you faced growing from a small dealership to a large one?
Jon Sullivan: Porsche Centre Bournemouth’s original site () was well established and it’s also one of the oldest Centres in the network. But for a long time, it was at a different level – through no fault of its own – and now we’re definitely getting better.
