Planning and Permitted Development rules set to ease

In a recent speech, Housing Secretary Michael Gove announced his long-term plans to simplify the paperwork associated with building and extending homes. As well as promising to empower more people to construct their own properties, by making more resources available to would-be self-builders, Gove also committed to relaxing current permitted development rights to make it easier for homeowners to undertake an extension or loft conversion.
