FLYING SCOTSMAN ON TOUR

FROM SOUTHERN SUSSEX…

A year later than planned and six years following its previous visit to the line, Flying Scotsman once again pulled the crowds at the Bluebell Railway during its 12day stay, with a week working trains between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead and the remainder on static display, with footplate access on offer.

The visit in 2022 was unfortunately put off owing to the A3 breaking a piston ring, which had subsequently damaged the cylinder. Disruptions in the supply chain meant that although it had been discovered in good time, it was not possible to execute the repair work in time to meet the dates of the visit.
