‘SCOTTISH GALA’ BREAKS SPA VALLEY VISITOR RECORDS

The visit of Caledonian Railway locomotives Nos. 828 and 419 into deep Southern territory in April helped to secure the biggest and busiest enthusiast event in the Kent heritage line’s history with 2,700 visitors.

The Scottish Steam-Up on 2-3 April was followed by a Caledonian Steam Weekend on 9-10 April. No. 419 returned to its Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway base after the event whilst the Strathspey Railway’s No. 828 will take its turn on
