Scotsman will launch the first Strathspey steam gala in years

ADDED tothecalendarofeventsforthe centenary year celebrations for A3 Pacific No. 60103 Flying Scotsman is its first working visit to a Scottish heritage line, at which it will also launch the Strathspey Railway’s first steam gala to take place for several years.

While No. 60103 has run through Aviemore before on a railtour on May 10, 2019, double-heading with LNER B1 No. 61306 Mayflower from Edinburgh to Inverness, it has neither visited the Strathspey nor operated public services on any other Scottish heritage line in preservation.
