The hardest goodbyes are arguably to those who are dying or have died. ‘People often resist saying goodbye, they feel these words are the world telling them to “let go”, to “move on”, but it’s far from that,’ says grief expert Zoë Clark-Coates, author of Beyond Goodbye**. ‘Saying goodbye is saying, “I’m sorry you had to leave, but now I’ll live my life for us both.”’
